ABOUT KATE

A little about me

I’m Kate Knight — a senior leader in children’s services, coach in training, and someone who cares deeply about how we support the humans within complex systems.

For over twenty years I’ve worked alongside children, families and professionals in roles that hold both responsibility and emotional weight. I currently lead within fostering services and have spent much of my career supporting teams, carers and leaders to create safe, stable and nurturing environments for children.

Alongside this, I am now completing my first 50 hrs coaching as part of my ICF and ADDCA accreditation. Building on my comprehensive professional and academic background as an ADHD-aware coach. I am developing a coaching practice that offers a thoughtful, compassionate space for reflection and growth. This work is deeply personal to me as well as professional. Like many of the people I support, I understand what it means to hold high expectations, juggle multiple roles, and sometimes find that the strategies that once worked no longer quite do.

Coaching offers a different kind of space. One that is not about fixing or directing, but about listening, noticing, understanding and gently moving forward.

My approach

My coaching is shaped by:

  • A trauma-informed lens

  • An understanding of neurodivergence and masking

  • Leadership experience within complex organisations

  • A systemic perspective on families and teams

  • A belief that people already hold wisdom about themselves

I work slowly, thoughtfully and collaboratively. Sessions are reflective, practical and grounded in real life.

This is not about quick fixes or high-pressure change. In order to achieve real change a minimum commitment for a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks is recommended. That said, I am led, by the coaching partnership and we will work together to find the best fit for you.

It’s about creating space to think, feel and move forward in ways that feel sustainable.

Who I work with

I support:

  • Leaders and managers holding significant responsibility

  • Women navigating identity shifts, menopause or late ADHD diagnosis

  • Professionals who feel capable but stretched

  • Those working in caring or helping roles, supporting children or partners with Neurodiverse needs

  • Anyone looking for a calm, boundaried space to reflect

Are you used to always being the strong one?
Coaching offers a place where you don’t have to be.

Where I am in my coaching journey

I am currently completing accredited coaching training and building my coaching hours as part of this process. This means I offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced rate while I continue to deepen my learning and practice.

My coaching work sits alongside my leadership role and is offered with clear professional boundaries and a strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.

A gentle invitation

If you’re curious about coaching, or simply feel you might benefit from a calm space to think and talk things through, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

You don’t need to be in crisis.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You just need a place to start.
